A NEW YEAR FOR --->POPSCENE! Well, it has been a great 4 months since starting this thing. Thanks to all who played or contributed to its success. I look forward to more great shows in 2004... a lot of special surprises from national bands and DJs, and all your favorite locals. Last night's Popscene was the last of 2003 and I'd like to thank Keith for his support and help; Steve (DJ Sloan) for lending a hand at the mixer; Rodney for having the faith to let this happen in its own way; Steve Rullman for his advice and continuing support; Audra and Courtney for the interest and press; the management and staff of DaDa... Sean, Chera (R.I.P.), Melanie, the hot new server, and the rest; and especially the Popscensters... Liz, Timb, Helen & Beck, Christian, Aaron & Maggie, Ferny, Vanessa, Harold, Melissa, Pete, Steve & Nicole, Tim, Chris, Tom, Jay, and everyone who has come to Dada on a Saturday night and enjoyed the music. On Saturday, Dec. 6th, I will be in Hollyweird taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the City Link Music Fest. This means I won't be able to don my mask and cape to spin plastic at DaDa as DJ Mana. Anyone out there like indie pop, rock, mod, soul, electro, no-wave? If so, contact me and you can take over --->POPSCENE for the night. Does it pay? Nope. But the powertrip of making people listen to music you like is more than enough reward. Huge ego recommended.
